Following on from the “100 in 100”, a campaign by the National Apprentice Service to promote apprenticeships in local businesses and the Lancashire drive to place 100 apprentices in 100 days, thehoodiestore.co.uk is pleased to announce their commitment to this cause.

A growing Preston based business that has found a niche and expanding market in the personalisation of varying forms of sports and casual wear, the online company has taken on board a new apprentice, Scott Park, who studies at Preston College.

Scott, in his first year of a Business Administration NVQ explains that part of the reason he selected his course was to facilitate an easy transition into his career once his NVQ had been completed.

Working 4 days a week completing tasks such as order processing, financial, administration, printing and artwork, Scott feels he has been given an opportunity to jump start his peers as he gives himself every opportunity to find employment amongst this current economic instability.

Elliott Bolton, owner of thehoodiestore.co.uk says, “During this economic downturn the business has been affected slightly, but we have tried to develop new product ranges and build awareness of the work that we do each step of the way. During the past 18 months the business has grown to such an extent that we needed to employ to cover the increase in orders. To have someone like Scott has been a huge help and the drive and commitment he has shown has been exemplary.”

Claire Smith Recruitment Co-ordinator at the college explains that campaigns such as this are only possible with the help of local business saying: “Working with companies such as thehoodiestore.co.uk, Preston College is committed to providing excellent training opportunities for people and getting them in to great careers.

“As a result of his Apprenticeship, Scott has the opportunity to secure a permanent role with the company and that is brilliant for him.

“At Preston College, we pride ourselves on the relationships we have with local employers and the opportunities we can offer people choosing to embark on an Apprenticeship.
