Elliot Bolton Profile

The sign of a fantastic entrepreneur is their ability to develop a successful business in areas others would not see the opportunity. In today’s market negative publicity on a product is seen as a death knell for many potential businesses, however Elliott Bolton saw the expansion potential of his idea and has since concentrated solely in pursuing his dream of becoming a successful national businessman.

Elliot left college after his graphic design course before deciding to enter a local practise as Junior Accountant. Moving into industry after 3 years Elliott worked for a large pub chain preparing their management accounts.

All throughout this period Elliott would spend all his free time helping out in his mother’s family embroidery business, attaching his experience in accountancy to the hands on knowledge he was gaining first hand.

Seeing potential open markets in this area Elliott not only kept the embroidery business running as his mother withdrew over time from the business but explored, researched and developed two new markets, both of which are successfully trading today.

Over time Elliott had the choice to make as to whether pursue the safe career in accountancy or follow his instinct in developing his current business. Elliott understood that he would be working harder and longer but the ultimate success was in his own hands and he was comfortable that, with his ideas, background and general business skills he could succeed in his chosen area.

Academy Workwear and Promotions Ltd was developed soon after Elliott took over the day to day running of the business and was centred around providing a wide range of products that could be customized with logo or text. A simple idea which covered a huge range of companies with no specific market boundaries.

There are of course many of these businesses around the UK, but not comfortable with sitting in a price driven market, Elliott looked at avenues where he could develop a new individual concept with a specific customer base. Schools, colleges and Universities seemed to be the ideal starting point as a customer base who would require, in one format or another, many of Elliott’s products from staff uniforms to sports kits, student clothing to marketing and promotional products.

Elliott soon built this part of the business supplying for clients such as Newcastle University, Central Lancashire University, Lancaster and Salford Universities, these amongst many other schools and colleges.

Elliott is ideally placed to roll out his regional campaign nationwide by keeping the same price structure and using the same model that has succeeded thus far.

Within this market place Elliott has seen a growing trend over the past couple of years in one particular fashion area, that of hooded sweatshirts. Thehoodiestore.co.uk was created specifically for this market and the potential market places are wide and varied. Elliott’s foresight is now to target particular industries and groups with a targeted marketing campaign. With the correct awareness and build of the brand this company and website will prove to be a simple but hugely effective profit making idea and one that can be replicated throughout the country.
